VACATION WITH DOG - A CHECKLIST

// RELAXED ON VACATION - WITH A DOG! DON'T FORGET THE MUZZLE!

I pack in my suitcase the passport, swimming trunks and … of course my dog! But a vacation with dog must be properly planned – we have compiled a small checklist for you, so that guaranteed nothing can go wrong!

We had to wait some time for it, but there is green light: also in summer 2020 may be traveled! For most people, this year’s program probably includes a vacation in Austria – but even in your own country there are a few things to keep in mind when traveling with your four-legged friend!

Once the suitable accommodation, where dogs are also allowed, has been found, it’s time to pack! The dog also needs its own travel suitcase with the following things:

  • dog food adapted to the duration of the vacation,
  • Treats,
  • Bowl for water and food,
  • Dog poop bag,
  • Collar, chest harness, leash and drag line,
  • Dog tracker,
  • Transport box or belt to strap for the car,
  • Blanket or basket,
  • Towels,
  • Toys (also suitable for the water),
  • Brush,
  • Emergency first aid kit with bandages and essential medications,
  • Immunization record,

and of course especially important:

  • the LimuZZ muzzle!

But why is the muzzle so important when traveling with your four-legged friend in Austria? The regulations on muzzling or leash requirements are determined by the individual municipalities and federal states, which is why the legal situation may vary. As a precaution, it is therefore advised to always carry a muzzle. Besides the accommodations (no matter if hotel, apartment or camping site) it is often obligatory to put on a muzzle for the dog, especially at (tourist) excursion destinations. If you are traveling in the mountains, you will need it in mountain railroads or on gondola rides, and if you want to take a boat trip on the lake, you are also on the safe side with a muzzle. The LimuZZ muzzle is totally lightweight, takes up hardly any space due to its flexibility and is quickly put on and taken off again!

Also in guest gardens, restaurants or inns it is appreciated if the dog wears a muzzle. Not only the encounter with other dogs is more relaxed, also the people react more calmly to the four-legged friends. And the LimuZZ has a side effect: begging for food at the table is in vain and also food scraps on the floor do not end up in the dog’s stomach! 😉
